What you will learn

This skill set gives tour guides, rangers, and cultural educators a nationally recognised set of units covering the practical, cultural, and interpretive sides of guiding. It’s especially suited to Aboriginal cultural tourism operators, national park and heritage site guides, and eco-tourism businesses wanting to build guiding capability that respects and accurately represents local Indigenous culture.

Delivery

Hybrid online/face-to-face delivery, consistent with ECHAM Training’s other short courses.

Entry Requirements

Entry Requirements

  • Minimum age 18 (or 16 with parental/guardian consent, where applicable)
  • Sound written and spoken English skills, sufficient to engage with training materials and workplace communication
  • Access to a computer/device and internet connection for online components
  • No formal prerequisite qualifications required
  • Physical capacity to participate in practical guiding activities (may include outdoor/on-site components)

Qualification Outcome

On successful completion of all three units, students will receive a Statement of Attainment for:

  • SITTGDE014 – Work as a guide
  • SITTGDE013 – Interpret aspects of local Australian Indigenous culture
  • SITTPPD013 – Develop interpretive activities

This Statement of Attainment is nationally recognised and issued under ECHAM Training’s RTO (46476).
